This project develops an Internet of Things (IoT) system for real-time air quality monitoring using the MQ135 sensor and ESP32 microcontroller. The collected data is sent to the cloud and visualized through a web-based dashboard.

System Components

  1. Air Quality Sensor (MQ135)
Detects various gases and pollutants such as CO2, NH3, alcohol, cigarette smoke, and other airborne contaminants.
  2. ESP32 Microcontroller
Provides Wi-Fi connectivity and transmits sensor data to an MQTT server.
  3. Web Dashboard
Displays real-time air quality data through interactive charts using Chart.js and WebSocket.

System Benefits

  • Increases public awareness of air pollution.
  • Provides environmental data to support decision-making and policymaking.
  • Supports the development of smart city initiatives.
